> Quai Network is a set of EVM-compatible blockchains that achieves 50k+ TPS without compromising decentralization.
IceCreamSwap x Quai

With Quai Network’s Golden Age Testnet just around the corner and Mainnet scheduled for release this Summer, there’s no better time to become acquainted with some of the projects in the Quai Ecosystem. This article will focus on IceCreamSwap – the history of the project, their integration with Quai, and their future plans for Quai’s Mainnet.

What is IceCreamSwap?

IceCreamSwap is a DEX and AI DEX aggregator founded by Simon, the current CEO of IceCreamSwap, in early 2022 to create an efficient DeFi ecosystem across many different blockchains. Adding support and facilitating interoperability between a variety of different chains has been central to the project’s mission since its foundation. By now, IceCreamSwap has added support for 18 different networks, including Quai Network’s Testnet.

The main offerings of IceCreamSwap are a DEX, bridge, and an AI DEX aggregator. By providing all of these essential services under one cohesive brand, IceCreamSwap positions itself as a DeFi hub for nascent networks like Quai.

IceCreamSwap’s Integration with Quai Network

IceCreamSwap was officially announced as the recipient of a Quai Genesis grant in February of 2024. Quai Genesis is a grant program specifically designed for builders like Simon to get financial and technical support while expanding their project’s functionality to Quai. Soon after the grant was awarded, a beta version of the integration was put live on a distinct frontend

“The grant process involved an in depth check of what we are building. The Dominant Strategies team provided us with great feedback for our project as well as very useful insights about what Quai is building and searching for.”

— Simon, on the process of getting a Quai Genesis grant

In the future, as Quai Network adds mined transactions to the Golden Age Testnet, IceCreamSwap will be exploring how this functionality can be used to allow users to avoid MEV.

“It’s very exciting to build on a novel chain and be the first to utilize never seen before features. With continuous support from the Quai team and the already huge group of builders on Quai, the process has not only been interesting from a technical aspect, but we also meet many amazing people along the way.”

— Simon, on his experience building the Quai integration

Ecosystem projects like IceCreamSwap are experimenting with their Testnet deployments in preparation for Quai Network’s Mainnet this upcoming Summer. Simon has stated that he hopes to bring all of IceCreamSwap’s existing features – the DEX, bridge, and DEX aggregator – over to Quai, along with new features to allow for MEV resistance with mined transactions.

“When Quai’s Mainnet is launched, the IceCreamSwap DEX  (which is already available on testnet!) will fully go live. In addition, our bridge, which already connects 14 chains, will go live. Even our AI DEX aggregator will go live on Quai Mainnet, which will improve DeFi for everyone by optimizing trades and keeping value in users pockets rather than being siphoned off to arbitrage and MEV bots.”

— Simon, on IceCreamSwap’s plans for Quai Network’s Mainnet launch

Interested in playing around with the IceCreamSwap integration on Testnet? A member of the Dominant Strategies team has created a guide on Twitter to teach you how to set up your own token and LP on IceCreamSwap:

Join us to build a better blockchain.

Quai Network is an open-source Proof-of-Entropy-Minima blockchain network utilizing the capabilities of merged mining to increase throughput and security. Users of Quai Network will enjoy fast transaction times without compromising decentralization and security. Miners will have competitive mining opportunities across the many blockchains within the network.

Capable of thousands of transactions per second, the Quai Network is a new solution to scalability that is soon to be ready for mainnet release.

Security

All Quai Network blockchains are braided together, keeping the entire network censorship resistant and secure creating Scalable Proof-of-Work.

Decentralization

Quai allows anyone to participate in network governance by running a node or miner. With thousands of participants distributed across the globe, there is no single party with the ability to modify or turn off the network, ensuring zero network downtime.

Scalability

Quai Network automatically expands with demand to upwards of 50,000 TPS while keeping fees under $0.01.

Consensus

Transactions in Quai Network can be locally confirmed prior to global confirmation, offering high throughput with the shortest possible time to economic finality.

Shared Security

All blockchains within Quai Network share Proof-of-Work security through merged mining. Every Quai transaction is eventually confirmed by 100% of network hash power.

Merge-Mined Parachains

Parachains inherit security and interoperability by merged mining with Quai Network, and create new incentives for miners and users.

The Prime Chain

The Prime blockchain acts as the "knot" tying all Quai Network chains together. The Prime blockchain braids sub networks together, facilitating the transfer of data across chains.

Sub Networks

Quai's many high-speed sub networks independently and asynchronously process transactions. All sub networks are braided together by the Prime chain, ensuring shared security and interoperability across the network.
